Terra Seca

Terra Seca is a game made for the Con Latinidad GameJam, by Latinx in Gaming!

The game is set in the Northeast region of Brazil, known as the Sertão, and it explores the cultural elements of the Cangaço. The Cangaço were highly popular heroic/bandit figures in the 19th century.

We made the Art following the aesthetics of "Literatura de Cordel" that was present in that region, using dark lines of the xilogravura techinique.

For the music, we've composed 3 small songs, using instruments of the culture, like the Accordion (usually called Sanfona) and the Zabumba!

We brought a lot of cultural and geographic elements, like clothing, climate, vegetation and wildlife. We also kept some of the key words of the game in portuguese!

The game is available in portuguese, spanish and english.
